Northern Trust is hosting key industry experts to discuss a variety of emerging capital markets trends impacting asset owners and asset managers.
Join us for a half day of interactive sessions to discuss the evolution of the capital markets industry including outsourcing trade execution, changes in technology and trends in trading.
Northern Trust's Global Head of Integrated Trading Solutions will review a white paper on the growing prevalence of outsourced trading in the US. The discussion will provide a historical context for the growing outsourcing trend, the current environment of outsourcing, and thoughts on where the trends may lead us in the near future.
Dramatic market and regulatory changes have driven asset managers to optimize all aspects of FX trading with an increasing focus on anonymity, liquidity, price, technology, transparency, and operational efficiency. This has fueled the demand for new and differentiated FX solutions. Northern Trust’s Foreign Exchange partners will discuss the increasing complexity of FX markets, and the new FX trading/ FX outsourcing strategies being adopted by asset managers globally.
As alternative datasets abound, the smartest investors are looking inward at their own behavior. The CEO of a behavioral analytics company will connect the dots between behavioral finance, investment decision making, and AI, to prove that behavioral alpha - the gains from mitigating one's own human biases - is the next frontier for active fund managers.
An order management system provider will discuss how emerging technologies like the cloud, Big Data, APIs and AI can benefit investment firms. The discussion aims to separate hype from the reality in these individual areas. Most importantly, how buy side firms can prioritize which technologies can benefit their individualized needs the most and also how these areas relate to each other both now and in the future.
The use of options is gaining momentum. As more investors and consultants are incorporating options into their strategies, a panel of industry experts and Northern Trust's Global Head of Options will discuss the evolving landscape, trends in the industry, and how options are being used increasingly across all client segments.
